Gainesville, Virginia is the central city between Bristow and Haymarket in Western Prince William County. The area saw its most growth in the 90s with the construction of many new communities. Linton Hall Road, which connects Routes 29 and 28, was widened to 4 lanes making commutes to Northern Virginia slightly easier. For the most part, Gainesville remained a bedroom town until the early 2000s. That is when Peterson Companies launched Virginia Gateway which introduced shopping opportunities in the area. Atlas Walk and The Promenade now include more than 120 retail shops, restaurants, hotels, and service-oriented businesses. The Promenade is anchored by a 14-screen state-of-the-art movie theatre. With shopping and dining easily accessible from Routes 29 and 66, Gainesville is a magnet for people looking for homes close to the convenience of the Virginia Gateway.
