Thinking of selling your home in Prince William County soon? If you’re thinking about selling, you’re probably absorbing all of the information you can in preparation. Stop and watch this video as I explain the 3 major factors that could affect your home’s resale value.
Number 1 is the LOCATION – Location affects your value more than anything else. A house on a culdesac will always garner more money than one on a busy road. Others things to consider when you’re looking at locations is their proximity to schools, power lines, landfills, and major highways. You can always change a home on the inside. But you can’t do anything about it’s location so choose wisely!
Number 2 is the LAYOUT and CONFIGURATION – The rooms and flow of the house have to make sense or it could negatively affect your value. A more open layout has been favored in recent years but as more people continue to work from home, the need for doors on offices become a factor to consider.
Number 3 is RENOVATIONS and ADDITIONS – Doing minor upgrades such as painting or replacing cabinets, updating plumbing and lighting fixtures, fresh paint, and new flooring can go a long way. Adding an additional bedroom will also push your house up into a higher price category.
